When will I ever learn?

You have come to... the heavenly Jerusalem. Hebrews 12:22

You would think that I would learn. I went to make the cookies and the muffins and come to find out that I was almost out of milk. I had enough to make the cookies and the Saskatoon muffins. And the muffins are awesome. I am going to have to take some to dad tomorrow because he will really like them.

Pete had 2 for breakfast and Repete thought that he will have one as well. Ya, that is a disaster waiting to happen. When he realized that it was berries and not chocolate chips he didn't want anything to do with them. I really should not be surprised at this.

I called the Funeral Home and they are looking into having me do my practicum there. I sure hope so if not then I will be scrambling.

So all you in bloggerland please pray that I will be able to do it where I have been helping out.

The boys have a birthday party to go to after school and they are so excited that they couldn't wait to go. I was going to let them walk there but the weather here isn't the nicest. It is snowing and blowing again today and is supposed to last until tomorrow some time. Hopefully the roads will be good tomorrow because I have to go to the city for a service on my car.

Baking

I will praise you, O Lord, with all me heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. Psalm 138:1-3

I am feeling better. I do have a few places that are still sore but there are less sore spots than not.

I got great news today. I found out that I will be able to use my hours and embalmings for my hours that I need to get licensed. Plus I can do my practicum here. That is such a relief. I was so excited that I called Truckerman right away to tell him and then I called one of the girls in my class to tell her. She was just as excited as I was. This helps so much.

With everything the last couple of years that has gone on I really see the hand of God working. Things have been working out and all the hurdles are being made smooth. This is the road that the Lord intended for Truckerman and I.

Today I noticed how brown the bananas on the counter were becoming. This had me thinking I better make something out of them. Normally I would make Double Chocolate Banana Muffins (they are awesome and don't last very long) or Banana Bread. I wanted to do something different when I remembered I had a recipe for Chocolate Banana Cookies. I went looking for the recipe and not remembering which cookbook it was in I pulled out The Great Big Cookie Book. Mom had given it to me a coupl years ago and I have made a couple recipes out of it but never think of looking for new ones when I go to bake. So I started looking in the book at different things and tonight after the boys go to bed I am going to make the banana cookies (the recipe was in a different cookbook) and I am going to make Saskatoon Cinnamon Bun Muffins (this will be the first time making them), Apple Cinnamon Muffins (these ones I have made and they are really good), and Raspberry Muffins (this will be a first for these ones too). I am hoping that they all turn out. I plan on freezing most of them that Truckerman can take them to work and the boys for school as well.

I will change the recipes a bit. I refuse to bake with white flour and so I use only whole wheat flour. I also will cut the sugar to 1/2 or 3/4s of what is called for in the recipe and I do not add any salt that is called for. No one seems to notice me doing this and the taste is still just as good. This makes the muffins much healthier for us and what the kids don't know won't hurt them. ;-)

So I better get the boys off the bed and get baking.

Clumsy!

So they picked up Jonah and hurled him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. Jonah 1:15

I just about did a header into a six foot deep hole today and I just about brought someone down there with me.

I called a friend who is a Funeral Director to help me with some school work and he wasn't there so I talked to the other Funeral Director friend that was there and he said that they were swamped and that I could come and help today if I wanted to and that they really did need the help. So I drove up there last night so I didn't have to get the boys and I up so early this morning.

I helped out a one of the funerals that they had to do today and then one of the men and I were sent out to set up the grave at the cemetery 30 minutes away for the other funeral.

We went and started to get things ready and we set up the boards and the turf so the next thing to be done is to put on the lowering device for the casket to be placed on. I was carrying the one end and walking backwards. That was a no-no for me, I don't do well carrying things and walking backwards Truckerman can attest to that. Well, I stumbled over one of the boards and lost my balance. I was just starting to regain it when I stepped on the hem of my pants and fell over. Well, the lowering device has to be close to 100 lbs. and I almost dropped it into the grave and sending this poor man with it but I was lucky that I was able to place it on the boards in time and I landed on my left leg.

I know hurt alot and in alot of places. My left leg and foot from the knee down, my left hip, my left arm from the elbow up and my left shoulder, my right wrist and hand and forearm, my right shoulder and now my back is a bit tight. OOOHHH, I am going to hurt in the morning!!

I'm just thankful that I didn't fall in or pull the gentleman that I was working with in as well. To top it all off, I hit my head as I was getting into the van to leave. Maybe I should have stayed in bed this morning. LOL

Fun in the Snow

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15

We heard a noise this morning and come to find out that the one gentleman that works for the area we live in was out playing in our yard. He made a huge hill of snow in the yard for the boys and when they came home it was straight to the hill they went.
You can't tell by this picture but Truckerman but the power line that he is pointing to is lower than he is. The hill is far enough away from the powerline that the boys can not touch it. The hill doesn't look too tall here because of the angle and distance from the hill I was when taking it. The hill is as tall as our mature lilac hedge right behind it.

Here is the king of my castle and his two dirty little rascals. They had quite alot of fun climbing and sliding down the hill. Truckerman also got the bright idea to slide down on the boys GT sled. He didn't make it down the hill still on it. Made for a good laugh though.

The time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions. 2 Timothy 4:3

Pete has been down with the flu since Monday. Repete and I went to the bigger city with a friend to pick up her brother from the airport. Thank goodness that Truckerman was home because Pete got sick in the morning at school. From what Pete figures there were about 16 of them sick that morning. That doesn't seem like much but the average class size is about 18 children per class and there is only 7 classes in the whole school.

The boys came home with a note saying that there is head lice again in the school. Everyone was hoping that it would have been contained over the Christmas holidays but I guess not. So far I know that it is not in the Kindergarten or the Grade 3 classes. I buzzed Repete's hair last night and am hoping to buzz Pete's hair tonight and then it should be too short for lice to take hold. I was also told and read that adding some tea tree oil to the shampoo will help repel the lice. So I bought a bottle of tea tree oil and have started adding it to their shampoo when they wash. I'll just use the rest for cleaning. I have found some recipes for all natural cleaners and air fresheners so I'll start doing that. I thought it will help to start using them because they are cheap to make and when we have no money when Truckerman is at school the items will be in our cupboards anyways so this will be a good thing.

I'm cheap as it is when it comes to certain things. I love No Name and any other store brand. Most things are the same as the brand name stuff anyways so why pay more. Plus when it is in Tupperware who is going to know? I know that the Safeway blue packs of bacon is the exact same thing as Maple Leaf and Burns bacon. How do I know this? I worked for Burns before it was Maple Leaf. So when buying bacon go cheap.

Today the temperature got to the freezing/melting point and was quite a nice day. This did not stop me from getting the truck stuck in the driveway. You wonder how. While backing up the snow was packing under the tires and there is a bit of a rise where we back up the truck from the snow and with it packing under the tires it made it pack into ice and all the tires would do was spin. Yet the car could back up no problem and there is more of a rise for it to go over. Thank goodness Truckerman had taken the cell with him when he had taken the car or Pete would have been stuck at school and Repete and I at home and we were all supposed to be a bowling.

The boys (well Truckerman and Repete are, Pete is doing up homework) are watching the All Star Hockey Game. I'm debating about joining them or studying. Hmm, what should I do? I really should get some stamping and scapbooking done and I would like to get ahead in my studies. I think I'll read a bit and then go and have some fun. :-)

I'm Hungry

And Sarah said, "God has made laughter for me." Genesis 21:6

Does it not grate on your nerves when a little someone keeps coming up to you and says, "I'm hungry, I'm really hungry." This is just a 1/2 hour from the last time he had eaten.

What else bothers me is at meal time half way through eating he says, "I'm full. I can't eat any more." So he gets up and leaves but as soon as supper has been cleaned up he says, "I'm hungry mom, I'm really hungry."

OOOOHHHH, how much can he eat?! And what is he going to be like as a teenager?!

Funny things

You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:16

I am just taking a break from doing my Funeral Directing assignment. :-P The first question is worth 100 marks and consists of telling the similarities and differences of the Anglican, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, United, Mormon, Mennonite and Hutterite services. I just fried some of my brain cells doing this one. I talked to my instructor tonight and it looks like I was on the right track for my assignment.

When we go to the big city I am to call her to go out for coffee the one night we are there. That will be nice. She really wants me to move there right away. Hopefully she can get me a job where she works. It is the largest private funeral home there and it pays well. I've also heard that it is a good place to work.

Pete told Uncle One Eye a joke a Christmas. It is quite funny I just have to tell it. Okay here it goes.
Pete: What do you find in an empty nose?
Uncle: What do you find up an empty nose?
Pete: Finger prints!

Pretty good for a 8 year old.

I just remembered I was supposed to have told the story that my parents and grandparents told me at my birthday. Well I think I am going to tell you tonight. So here it goes.

This happened when my Aunt Sharp Shooter was about 9 and I was about 4 and my Uncle One Eye was about 18. It was Halloween and Aunt SS stayed in town with us to go Trick or Treating. Before we were to go to the farm mom and dad had a disagreement over something so dad was grumpy. Remember that 20 + years ago we did not use car seats and all of us would piled into the vehicle.

Well we had a orange and white Dodge pickup and there was mom, dad, my aunt, my brother and myself in the front. Dad had put my aunt's wheelchair in the back (we were in an accident when she was 6 and I was 1 and she ended up paralized from the midchest down). When he did this he didn't fold it up just put it in and forgot to put the breaks on.
We left for the farm which is only about 10 miles from town, and on the way there someone was flashing his lights at dad and waving at him. Well, with him being in a bad mood he thought that they were just being rude to him and he flashed them the bird (this is so out of character for my dad).

When we got to the farm we come to find out that the person flashing his lights was only trying to tell us that the chair had fallen out the back. So dad had to go back and find it.
Uncle One Eye decided that he was going to carry Aunt SS to the house. As he was going up the steps he was exerting himself and his false eye popped out and rolled away.

Dad came back with the chair and it was bent up and so auntie was out her chair and my uncle was out his eye.

After about 1.5 hours of looking in the dark they did finally find the eye and all was better.

Anyone out there have funny stories to tell? I'd love to hear about it. I have plenty more where that one can from. I have a cool family but they are clumsy and have done some funny things. I'll have to tell the story about my Gramps, his brother, their teacher, and a snake. That one will have to be for another day.

Quiet Time

Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1

I went to the city today all by myself. It was so quiet and I got things done faster then usual so I just took my time because Cranky Momma's daughter was babysitting for me so I took advantage of the time alone. Plus I didn't feel right showing up at home at the same time as the kids and having to send her home without doing what she came to do.

The doctor said that the infection was gone but because of it was the cough and it would take some time to get over it so he gave me an inhaler to help me breathe better. It should take about a week to feel 100% again. Ya!! I really hope so.

I bought the boys Cars coloring books today and a Mater poster. They were pretty excited about it all that Repete sat in the middle of the floor and examined every page and Pete spent almost 2 hours coloring one page with the markers that came with it. I think that they might go out to the car so they can have activities to do when we go places. We always take things but it is just easier to just keep them out there instead of trying to find them when we need to. You think that would be so easy. Not in this household.

Last night I decided that since I was going to be in the city I would get some pictures developed. So I put the backup disk into the drive and it took 3.5 hours to load everything up. Something went haywire somewhere. Well anyhow, when I checked the pictures about 50 didn't come up and the ones that I needed were not on there. I realized that the date on the disk was the date it was loaded not the date of the last set of pictures. Not realizing that when we loaded pics up for the recovery I didn't do the ones for august because I thought that Truckerman had loaded them up too on the backup. I was wrong and now they are all gone. Imagine how happy I was after my computer freezing up 3 times and then taking so long to load and finding them not there and worst of all I can't retrieve anything off of the backup that I can tell. I'm not happy at all. Truckerman is going to have to figure it all out because if I try again I just might break something.

Speaking of the recovery, I finding more things that Truckerman is going to have to do when he gets home. There are things that are not working properly or needing updating. I found out that the recovery also switched all the drives around as well. So on top of being firey mad last night about everything else I had to figure out why the pictures that I could load on the memory stick wouldn't go to it. It kept saying that it was the wrong drive. EEERRR!!! I am much calmer now because of my quiet day. :-)

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Psalm 107: 6-7

Truckerman left for work today. His boss had to have some type of procedure done today so Truckerman said he would go in a few days early.

The weather is starting to warm up now so the boys should be able to go out and play tomorrow. They will like that because the plow made bigger hills for them to play on.

I have to go to the city tomorrow to see the doctor. Hopefully he can help me with this cough. I would really like to be able to exercise and be able to breathe. So needless to say, because I have not been able to breathe I have stopped and all the weight that I had lost in December I gained back. :-( So hopefully soon I can get back on the eliptical.

While in the city I will get some more pictures developed. First thing I have to do is figure out where I left off in developing. Then I have to find the disk that they are on and then send them to the memory stick to take to the store. This might be a lengthy process I might now like. But then again, I get to look at my three boys that I love. :-)

The rib that the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman. Genesis 2:22

At this present moment in time Truckerman is watching the Calgary Edmonton hockey game and is cheering because Calgary just scored again. :-) They are winning 3-1 in the 3rd. YA!!

He took the boys bowling tonight to make up for the games from Wednesday that they missed because of the storm. I stayed home so that they had some man time with dad and so I could also get my Business assignment finished and sent off (which I did).

I started reading some more of my Funeral Directing. UGH! This is going to be a tough semester. I'm really starting to realize how tough certain parts of this job are going to be. Maybe I should just be the embalmer and cremater. Then I really wouldn't have to deal with people at all and stay in my own little corner of the world. But then there is the thought that I could influence someone that doesn't know the Lord. This is really starting to hurt my brain. Maybe that is one reason I would prefer to live in a small town after Truckerman is finished Semenary because there is less diversity as one would call it.

Truckerman installed pretty much everything that needed to be installed back into the computer and most things are working as should be except one little thing to do with our dial up (yes I said dial up...we live out of town and I'm not paying the fee to have high speed to be brought out here when we are moving anyways...if we were not then we would have paid for it). Truckerman will sort that out in the next couple of days and then all should be well. I did find out that I erased a CD that I listen to on the computer so I will have to rip it again so I will be able to hear it on here.

So things are almost back to normal if normal is what you would call this house hold. LOL So now I have to just get back into the groove of studying and getting the rest of this household cleaned and fixed. What fun! :-P

Getting Done

The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. Psalm 29:4

Crankymomma called me today to tell me that our disk drive is here. YA! Actually it is here sooner then expected which pleases me alot. Truckerman came home today so the drive will be replaced tomorrow. So then all the other things that need to be installed will be. The only problem is that I will be kicked out of my office for some time. I'll just have to push my way back in to finish the assignment that I had started.

The thing that I learned from this assignment. I am not the type to succeed at being an Entrepeneur. Like I didn't know that already but I still have to take this class. It shall be interesting that is for sure.

I had to call the doctor today and he called in a perscription for Repete for his ear because it is taking so long to clear up. Hopefully we should see a difference tomorrow or the next day.

I have to go in and see the doctor because I am getting bad again with my infection. Going out in this weather with or without a scarf is causing me problems.

My parents went to Calgary, AB today to see Cookie and to visit some people that they had met with vacationing this summer. They are also going to see David Copperfield while they are there. Cookie bought them tickets to see him for Christmas. We had gone and seen him quite a few years ago and he really puts on a great show. Mom and Dad are really excited about going. I hope that they have a great time. They diserve it.

I'm having some trouble with my Funeral Directors course that I am currently taking. It is on the different funeral practices of different religions, non-religions, and cultures. I am finding quite a few things that are wrong and quite a few things that are not really clear or left out. What really gets me is the fact that certain religions are classified under Christian Denominations when clearly they are the furthest thing from being so. I had to call the Anglican Minister in town to clear up a few things for me and to tell me what was correct and what was not. I also called a couple of Pastor friends that are Pastors in the LCC and they helped clear a few things up for me because there were things that I was correct in believing were so far fetched and help me find what was wrong in what was written. I was surprised to find that it said that usually a Lutheran Minister will not do any Litergical readings when they do a funeral service in a Funeral Home Chapel. I don't know an LCC Pastor that would do that. And is this not wrong to do since they are supposed to serve God and a Lutheran Funeral would be a Church Service regardless of where it was performed so is it not the responsibility of the Pastor to read the Word of God in the service. I need to email my teacher and clarify a few things with her about all of this. Actually, one of the other students called me today and said that she noticed some things that were wrong as well, so I am not the only one.

My Little Boy

Repete's ear is oozing again and this time there is alot comeing out. I'm just going to let it be for a couple of days to see how it goes and if it stays about the same then it is off to the doctor again.

I myself, am off to the doctor again next week because I don't think the trachea infection I had before Christmas is gone. I am having the same symptoms again and I am not liking it. The cough never did totally go away and has now become worse and my chest is feeling heavy again. Not what I really wanted right now as I am trying to get things done around the house and I am now feeling not so energetic or motivated.

Repete says that he will go to school again because today he didn't have to work that much so it was okay. He doesn't like to work you know. ;-) (Rolling my eyeballs)

Fashion Statement

When he cast [the tree] into the waters, the waters were made sweet. Exodus 15:25

Imagine this, a dark blue winter jacket, light blue and black boots, grey sweat pants, light purple scarf, bright green toque, and red and black mitts. This is what I wore to help the boys get to the bus this morning and to ask the driver if he needed me to call the grader operators to come and clean the driveways and to help pull the bus out this morning. I looked perdy!!

Calming down

The wind has changed directions again. It has changed a few times today causing snow drifts all over the yard. I didn't realize how deep they really were until I physically went out there and stepped into the snow. In some places I think it is almost up to my hips (I'm 5' tall). Other places are mid thigh and some areas there is very little. The bus is definatley not entering the driveway tomorrow unless it is plowed first.

My father-in-law called at supper time and he has not had power since 9am. Luckily he has a gas stove in the living room and a cistern in the basement for water because things would have been ugly if there wasn't. The power company finally had made it out there but had to call a plow to come in to get the crew to the area that needed to be fixed. Hopefully they can get things going soon so they can have light tonight.

Truckerman said that the roads where he is are getting better but there are quite a few vehicles in the ditches and there are people that are being very reckless out there. I have to think that Truckerman is in the semi and it is big and he can drive because he has been doing it a long time, it the other people on the road that make me nervous because they think that they can do whatever they want and that is what gets people into accidents. He told me that he was driving the speed limit and some guy passed him going up a hill on a solid line. What are people thinking when they do things like that? I just don't get it.

Holy Camoly Batman...

Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. Mark 10:15

Wow, what weather we are having. These pictures don't show the worst of it. The first one is of our tree line in the front of the house, when you could see it. For quite awhile it was none existant. There is a highway a bit beyond the trees and we are yet to see it.
This is a view towards the west of our house towards the neighbors. Yes, there is a house somewhere over there still, I think that there is one still there. It is just on the other side of the trees that you can just barely see.
This is the back yard. If you look to the right there is a shadow, that is some trees there.
I don't ever remember a time that the weather was this bad. The boys bus driver called and said he was not coming this morning. I was glad to hear that. Then I talked to Truckerman and he hit the ditch twice this morning and is now staying right where he is and won't be going anywhere until the weather lets up some more. That is a load off of my mind. I get nervous when he is gone and the weather is not very good.

Blizzard Coming

So [Naaman] went dodwn and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God. 2 Kings 5:14

There is a huge blizzard coming our way and should be in full force early in the morning. The winds started late in the afternoon but are to get stronger and is to change directions a couple different times and it is supposed to snow and the temperature is supposed to plummit. Good thing I went to the grocery store today so that minimizes the places that I have to go to in the cold. I'm still having trouble with the cold air on my lungs, so I will be sure to be wearing my scarf over my face for the next week.

Pete has to do reading every night so right now he is reading to me from his new book that he got at Christmas, The Black Stallion Mystery. He was excited to get that along with 2 Bobsey Twin novels. Books are great things in this house and like toys they are hard to give up.

The school is trying to raise money for new playground equipment so they are doing something different. What they are doing is having the children raise money and then every class is doing some type of challenge. The grade 3 class are doing 50 math problems and the Kindergarten class have to recignizing letters that they have learned and then have to place them with the corresponding picture, T for tent.

You can tell that Repete is out of sink at the moment. He is out of his routine that when he got home from school he was getting grumpy, really grumpy. He then told Truckerman that he didn't want to go back to school because they had to do work and he didn't want to do any more work. Truckerman said that he needed to learn his letter and numbers. His response was that he knew how to say them all and that he didn't need to learn to write them until grade 1 and that grade 1 was the hardest grade because they had to learn to write their letters and numbers all the time. I can't wait to hear the newest excuse.

I'm Back

[God] made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Truckerman recovered the computer and installed what he could. Now we are just waiting on the new drive to finish installing the remainder of the programs. This does pose as a bit of an hinderance for me because I have to use Microsoft Works rather than Office for the time being. I guess I will survive. ;-)

Truckerman went back to work today. Hopefully the roads were okay for him. The wind was gusting up to 90 km/hr and it was snowing on top of that. It makes for some lovely driving conditions. I checked the Highway Hotline site for here and it was claiming clear driving conditions. HMM I wonder who decided that because at the time I read that I could not even see the highway from the window and we live right off the road. Must have been someone with poor eyesite I guess.

I received my marks back for my classes and I have passed all 3 from last semester. This means only 4 more left to do. YA!!

We finally have the last of the Christmas decorations down and packed away. I now have them all in Rubberamaids so nothing will get wrecked and they will be easier to move this summer. I told Truckerman that I am going to keep buying more to pack things into because it will be easier to move and hopefully this time things won't go missing like every other time we move. UGH! I dislike moving the up side to it is the decluttering that is done.

We cleaned out the boys room and went through all of their toys. How can 2 boys have so much stuff?! All of it has been narrowed down to 4 small Rubbermaids and 1 larger one. Now we have to go throught the toys in the basement. That should be interesting. One thing for sure is the work bench is going to the Kindergarten room, then maybe someone will play with it again. Funny thing is, when I say that something is going then they decided that it can't because it is their favorite toy and that they play with it all the time. Could have fooled me. While Truckerman and I cleaned up the toys Pete had convinced Repete to go and spy on us to see what we are doing, well that was a mistake on their part because they come to find out that mom and dad were serious and were throwing things away and getting rid of some of their stuff. How dare we even think of it. Well it is done and its to late now, they had a couple of weeks to do what mom and dad did in an hour. I'm still finding it weird to walk down the hallway and looking into their room to find the ugly green shag gone and the room that they now have in there. Wow, what a difference!

I heard a very funny story the other day that I am going to have to post another day and trust me it is one of the funniest stories I have heard in a very long time. Check in soon to read it.

Poor Little Man

A bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not wrench. Isaiah 42:3

Last night while Truckerman and I were watching our movie Repete woke up with a sore ear. Truckerman gave him some Motrin and I got him the heating pad and he went back to sleep. At 6am he woke again to a sore ear so some more Motrin he got. It did it again at 11am. So I drove to the city to the doctor there and he has an ear infection just like we thought. So it is Motrin and Tylonal for him for the next couple of days.

At suppertime his ear popped and now is oozing some blood. I called the hospital and the nurse told me that it would be okay but if the flow hadn't slowed down by morning to bring him into the hospital. I have been putting cottonballs in his ear to absorb the ooze and it seems to be slowing down already.

When we got home from the city, Truckerman informed me that the CD/DVD drive of the computer has calved. So I might not be able to write for a couple of days. Tonight we backed everything up on the MP3 player and most of the pictures that I had not backed up yet onto the memory stick. Now Truckerman has to do a recovery to see if that will fix the drive (which is highly unlikely). This means that everything that we have saved will be gone for good if we did not back it up. What an ordeal! So then once that is done we have to put everything back onto the computer and then see if the drive works and if it doesn't then the company will send us a new one. Even with all this hassle I am thankful that this happened before the warranty ran out instead of after. So that is an upside to the situation.

So hopefully this will all get finished soon because I have assignments that will need to get done and this just puts a bit of a hold on it. But then it could be worse and we would have to send the computer away or it could have crashed with all the pictures, etc. on here that was not backed up. Yikes, that could hurt! And that could have really made things tough for me. So there is aways something worse that could always happen.

Ohhhh

"Is not the carpenter....?" And they took offense at Him. Mark 6:3

Today I lost it on my oldest son. How many times does one person need to be told where dishes go. It is his job to empty the dishwasher and I am still having to tell him and show him where things belong. It is absolutely mind frazzling with him some days.

The boys and I went to our friends house to go sledding. Repete and his friend tuckered out first so I had to take them back to the house while my friend stayed with her daughter and Pete. The boys had a good time there, but then they usually do. I had a nice visit with my friend. She and her 2 made cupcakes for me as a belated birthday present. I have some really great friends and the thought of leaving them really saddens me.

But anyways, I received a birthday card in the mail today from my employers. Totally unexpected and made my day. I'll have to call them tomorrow and thank them. Plus 5 parcels showed up in the mail. I had to call Truckerman to ask him what all he had purchased. He had received a book that he will need for school, and I received the nativity scene that I bought for mom for Christmas this year. Yes it is early but that is what I do. I have a few presents in my closet from before Christmas for birthday presents and this years Christmas. This way we don't have all the expenses in December.

Truckerman also bought me The Muppet Movie. I love that movie. We are going to watch it tonight. I can't wait! It has been a long time since I have seen it. I own a few other Muppet movies but this is the one that I really wanted and could not find. Now all I need to find is The Muppets Take Manhatten then I will have all the ones that I want. That would be really cool!

I friend came for supper tonight. We always enjoy visiting with him. The boys love to spend time with him as well. He has been a wonderful friend to us and has done so much for Truckerman (and I) with our path toward the seminary. Supper was tasty with sweet and sour meatballs, rice, carrots, and caesar salad. Yummy!!!!

For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; upright men will see His face. Psalm 11:7

Truckerman came home today so my friend and I were able to get out and go out for coffee. That was a nice break away from home and the boys.

While at coffee this man came into the restaurant and I was sure that I knew him. I told my friend that he looked like someone that I went to school with. After a few minutes he walked by and said hi. I was right, it was him. I haven't seen him in 17 or so years. I guess I haven't changed a whole lot since junior and senior high.

A sad thing happened the other day. One of the blogs that I frequent has shut down. I am really going to miss reading what she had to say.

Tomorrow the boys and I are going to a friends to go sledding again. Well, if it isn't too windy like today. It was really warm but windy. So I'm hoping that the wind will be down. This will leave time for Truckerman to have time for himself to relax or study, whatever he wants to do.

I have gotten my nose back into my books and started studying again. This semester doesn't seem near as busy as the last. I shouldn't say much because things liked to come up when I would least expect it.

Speaking of studying, I better get my butt off of here and get some more reading done so I can start on my first assignment. :-P

Happy New Year!

They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord - the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flock and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. Jeremiah 31:12

The last two days we have spent at home. I am trying to get rid of this cough and the cold air really aggrivates it.

I have gotten some cleaning done around the house, but not as much as I would have liked. But at least I did get something done.

I was able to get 1 page finished for Repete's scrapbook and 3 pages for Pete. I figured out that I am 2 years behind on Repete's and 2 years and 2 months behind on Pete's. Yikes! I really need to focus a bit more on spending a bit of time working on them instead of taking all these pictures and thinking about working on their books. I'm going to see if some of the girls would like to get together on Friday and scrapbook/cardmaking.

I was talking to a friend tonight and have decided that in the next couple of weeks we are going to get together on a Saturday and scrapbook. Maybe these things will get me motivated to actually get things done.

I have to start studying again. I have started some of the reading that needs to get done but I have to actually buckle down again because classes start again tomorrow. :-P Oh well, I just have to remind myself that I only have 4 classes left and I will be all done. Plus this semester seems to be at a slower pace then the last which is a nice thing because it was really starting to get to me.

I should get shooting and get another load of laundry in the wash before bed. Nitey nite everyone!
