What have a Accomplished Today

What have I accomplished today? It doesn't look like anything so far. It looks like a plane flew over my house and dropped a bomb right on top of it. Every room in my house is a complete disaster.

I have spent the better part of 4 hours today cleaning, yelling at the boys to clean, and being down right miserable and the only room in the entire hour (literally the entire house) is the bathroom.

That is a really sad thought. I live in a house filled with pigs and that is being generous. I understand that Truckerman is busy with school work and the boys take forever to do anything. But why is it that no one (including myself some days) can not pick up after themselves, can not throw things away, etc.? I ask for little things to get done and it is like I am speaking to the wall or nothing has come out of my mouth.

My stress headache that I have had since Tuesday is back again, I am super grumpy and my house is nowhere near clean enough for my candle party tonight.

I was hoping to get some of my Advent decorations up today so I would be ready for tomorrow but that is not going to happen. I guess that will have to happen tomorrow sometime if I don't have to go into work or around the boys curling in the afternoon.

Violated!!

Tonight I am watching Simon Birch with the boys. It is one of the best movies ever in my opinion. Pete remembers the odd thing in the movie because it has been a while since we have watched it. The boys are really enjoying it. There is a bit of language in it and every time Repete says, "He saying a bad word".

I went to Michael's today after work to pick up 2 scenes of thread for the cross stitch that I am working on. That was a bad idea. Well, good idea but now I am also making a new wreath for our place since we now have 2 doors that people use. I need a life.

Today at work we had a huge funeral and the person was a victim of a crime. Well the media showed up and were interviewing people on their way into the funeral home. Then when we were leading people out of the service I found a man leaving with a camera in his hands, so I confronted him and found out he was from one of the papers. Oh, that makes me mad. He had been taking photos during the service. I had to track down the family because they had left by this time and that upset them and I had to call the paper on their behalf to tell them that they are to not print the photos that were taken within the funeral home. That really picks my butt!!! How rude can the media be?! The journalist was rude to me, lied to me and violated the family by doing what he did. Those pictures better not be in the paper tomorrow or I am going to blow my top!!

Today is Remembrance Day here. It makes me sad to see when people do not want to recognize this day. It is like slapping the faces of all those men and women that have given of themselves to serve our country so we can have what we have.

Today I was planning on getting some housework done and visiting a couple different friends. But those plans have been thrown a wrench that have twisted things up. I received a call and now have to go to work this afternoon. Normally it would not bother me but it seems like people forget that we have families and lives outside our job but lately I am finding this to be very true. I know that once Truckerman is done school this will be true for him as well so this is hard for me to accept because I like my time with my family and being able to do things without things changing at the last minute all the time. This is something I need to work on in the next couple of years to accept even though is it tough.

I have had a somewhat busy week. My stampin stuff has come in and I started my Christmas cards. I have started my mom's Christmas present for next year. Yup I know it sounds funny but I had the desire to cross stitch so I decided to do one for mom for next year since I already have her present and there is no way I will have it finished before Christmas.

I went online and found a recipe for Italian Tortellini Stew. I changed it up a bit but there is a bit more tweaking that needs to be done. The broth I figure needs less chicken broth and more tomato sauce. I think that the broth would be good with ground chicken or turkey and then just add potatoes.

I went to a friends tonight and ended up sitting there for an hour and they were not home and didn't get home until a 1/2 hour after I had left. They got caught up at a restaurant. Oh well, been there done that. We are going to get together Tuesday and she is coming to my house this time.

This coming weekend my friend and I are going to hopefully spend a day scrapbooking again. I really need to get working on that because I am so far behind on it and I find it very relaxing and it is also nice to get to visit with others and bounce ideas off each other.

Truckerman and I bought new cowboy boots. They are so soft and comfy. I wore them to work and they felt great. We also got the boys each a cowboy hat because they were on sale and we owed them their allowances.

At work my boss is sending me to the represent the company at a supper in the Jewish community. We do all of their services and he can't go so I am elected to go. Thing is I am not allowed to tell anyone else in the company that I am going. Sweet!!

The CEO of the company gave me 2 tickets (company tickets) to a hockey game on my birthday. They are sweet tickets too. I am sending Truckerman and Repete to the game since the last time we had tickets Truckerman took Pete and we promised that next time it would be Repete's turn.

Then to top things off, my brother Cookie got us 4 free tickets to Farm Fair and the Canadian Finals Rodeo. I'm so Stoked about it because I love rodeos. It is for Saturday night so we all can go. Yipee!!

I have booked off November 21-23. The 21st the boys do not have school and Truckerman does so I need to take it off. Plus the boys don't have curling that weekend either so I figured it would be a good weekend to go home. So we are leaving on the Thursday and going to my parents. I think I will book the boys and I in for long overdue eye exams, a hair appointment for me and I need to take somethings to my friend. Then I am hoping to see a little birdie for a long overdue visit and then I want to stop at Truckerman's Dad's to pick up our outdoor lights and decorations. This year we can decorate the outdoors and we have room to store them.

Pete almost lost his life the other day. He almost lost $300 worth of stampin stuff. His
teacher even came up to him and pretended to choke him. GRR!! He's dang lucky he didn't lose that stuff.

Well, I just talked to a little birdie and looks like he and mrs. a little birdie are busy that weekend. Darn, one of these days we will get to visit. Maybe at Christmas when we are at home we will go see him at church.
