Crash, Bang, Boom

Neither he who plants noe he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
1 Corinthians 3:7
Today we went to a Demolition Derby/Monster Truck Pulloff/Tough Truck Racing. It was a present for Truckerman for Father's Day.

The boys had a blast at it. We were a little disappointed with the Monster Trucks because there was only one that actually did the pulloff and the other was sitting for pictures and the event ended 3 hours before it was supposed to have. But who's counting?
There were some really good heats of demo derby action and the weather was just perfect so everyone enjoyed themselves.
I even bought the boys each a checkered flag to wave around. Poor Truckerman took one to the face by a over enthusiastic child of ours.
Tomorrow is Canada Day here and we are going to celebrate by having a few friends over for a BBQ and a fire in the fire pit. Then maybe we will all head off to town for the fire works. That should be quite an enjoyable time. I'm really looking forward to it.

Happy Dance!!

You did not choose Me, I chose you. John 15:16

Finished, I am finished, it is all finished!!! Happy, happy, happy, I am so happy!!!

I wrote my last 2 exams this morning and I still am having trouble trying to fathom it.

Now to just finish the practicum and I will be officially finished to course and will receive my certificate. It will be a happy day in this household.

Gack!!

Do not fear, only believe. Mark 5:36

AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Quick update. The boys had their friends over to run through the new sprinkler. They all had a blast. A couple of the friends did not make it and the boys were a bit sad but when it came time to play everyone magically forgot.

My friend and her children stayed for supper and while I was getting making the lasagna and visiting I received a phone call from one of the realtors and they are showing the house tomorrow.

Yipee and Yikes at the same time.

Yipee because someone is looking at it and yikes because not only do I have to power clean (normal things plus because we had to clean up water in the basement and put that sump pump in the floor and there is a mess left from that) I also have to study for my final exams tomorrow morning. So there went time to clean in the morning and time this evening. :-P We will manage we always do. Just put my faith in the Lord that things will work out according to His plan.

Please pray for me that all is well with my exams [the last ones forever!!! :-)] and that we are able to sell our house soon and are able to find a place in the big city.

WOO HOO!!

We received a letter in the mail today from the Lutheran School where we are moving to. We had applied to send the boys there but we needed to get funding to help pay. We were willing to pay a portion of the tuition payments but the Tuition Assistance Commitee approved for the whole tuition to be covered.

What a blessing to have this. We were so worried about where to send the boys when we moved. The boys go to a great public school where they still say the Lord's Prayer before assembly and there are art activities and in Kindergarten work sheets involving the nativity and crucifiction. They even do a Christmas concert that involves things to do with Christianity.

Another nice thing is the school is very small. Both Pete and Repete are in the smaller classes of about 15 kids give or take a few. It seems to change constantly. Funny thing was Pete's class started with 21 in Kindergarten and gained and lost a few but now they have dwindled down to 14 this last year. Now they are down to 13 for the fall and one more might leave at the end of the next school year. Yikes! But with the smaller classes there is a better one on one with the teachers and that is what we were looking for for the boys. And with the small classes that they will have the more people get to know each other. That is a nice thing to have.

This is one thing that we do not have to think about anymore now just finishing up my classes and practicum, selling the house and finding a place to live in the next month or so. :-P

You know you've had to much rain when...

Ask, and it shall be given to you. Matthew 7:7

I received a phone call this morning from the boys bus driver saying that the bus was stuck and that I would have to drive Pete to town for school this morning. Yikes!!

So far the sump pump has been keeping things under control in the basement. I am thankful for that. I sure don't need to be worrying about the basement while I am trying to study for my finals at the end of the week (I am almost finished!!!), and trying to get ready to go to the city to do my practicum this summer.

It is supposed to be nice the next few days so hopefully it will dry up the water and I can also hang clothes out on the clothes line.

Larry unfortunately did not make it. We are not sure as to why. Gary is still going strong and the boys are happy about that.

Only one more day of school for Pete. Where has the time gone?! People told me that once the boys were in school time will fly. I did not think that it would go this fast. They are not going to be little boys anymore the way it is going.

Well time to go and get the laundry in the wash and get some studying done while Repete is occupied at the moment.

Welcome Gary and Larry

The word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

Wednesday when Truckerman came home from work he found that the basement had started to seep. :-P It must have just started sometime after Pete had been down there. So needless to say he has spent the last few days putting a sump pump in the store room. So far it seems to be working. YA!!

Yesterday Truckerman decided to take the boys fishing for the first time just to get out of the house. They had gotten a few nibbles but that was it. They all had a great time together and I was able to get some quiet time to myself as well.
The only thing is the boys came home with a few more house guests. Introducing Gary and Larry our new pets. As you can see they are snails. After they were put into the fish tank with water and some rocks the boys went online with Truckerman to see what snails will eat and that would be almost anything especially fruits and veggies. But no rice or noodles. So we gave them some lettuce and so far they seem content to be eating it. I guess we can keep them as long as they don't start to procreate.

Spinning

Do not fear, only believe. Mark 5:36

It has been over a week and we have not had anyone come look at our house. Funny thing is is that every other acreadge in the area seems to have sold but ours. Frustration!!!

Last week a very good friend of mine lost her husband suddenly. She asked me to make a scrapbook for the luncheon and for her to keep to look at afterwards. I was deeply honoured that she would ask me to do that for her. In 2 days I scrapbooked over 40 pages. Let's just say that at 7 pm the second night I fell asleep on the couch. I was so emotionally drained. She loved it and loved the fact that I had her daughter help me with one of the pages and then I had both her children make a page of their own. I hope that it helps them throught this time and gives them happy memories for years to come.

Repete and I went to the city to just get away after the week that we have had. Wow were there ever a lot of people from town there!! I also ran into 2 of my cousins and their husbands, saw my mom and dad (mom had the flu :-P I stayed away from her and gave dad his Father's Day present), and I saw 3 people from the funeral home when I popped in to talk to one of them for a quick second.

Repete and I bought some roses that were on sale at the grocery store. When we got home we took them to Truckerman's dad to give to his girlfriend from the boys and we took one to Truckerman's grandma in longterm care.

We received 3 + inches of rain in the last 2 days so things are very soggy around here. So far the lake that showed up in my yard is slowly going away. Hopefully it disappears soon.

I am finally done all my assignments for school. This means I am almost done. I only have to write 2 finals at the end of the month and I am finished school work and only have to finish my practicum and I am finished with school. Then after I get all my hours, etc. I can write my licensing exams. I'm so excited!!!

Celebration Day!!

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

Today was Repete's final day of Kindergarten. So they had a celebration day. The kids sang songs, played instruments, and got a certificate. After the entertainment we all went to the park for a picnic and games then off to the swimming pool. The kids played games after they got back to the school. Fun was had by all.

Repete says that he doesn't want to start Grade 1 because then he will have to work and he doesn't like to work. :-) Typical kid!!

We haven't had many looking at our house and every other acreage that was for sale have been sold. I just don't get it. Hopefully ours sell soon. I hope.

No Bites

And He took them in His arms and blessed them, laying His hands on the them. Mark 10:16

We have had three viewings on our house so far and no bites as of yet. I have been very particular about the house lately and am driving the boys nuts. But it is so nice to have a clean house for once and for more then one day. Yes, I really do have a clean house, it is amazing. Now the goal is to try and keep it this way from now on.
Pete was supposed to have a soccer tournament today but I figured out that he isn't enjoying it that much so I asked if the boys would like to go to Grandpa's BBQ today instead. The answer was yes. So we went. I did have a chat with Pete about soccer and had my suspicions confirmed. The BBQ was by a mass grave site from the 1880's. It was a mass hanging and this is where the people were buried.
The tipee is over way the burial site is so people can see it.
Here is Pete and Repete with the head stone with all the names of the people that were hanged.

It was difficult trying to explain things surrounding the site because there is so much involved in it. I will have to take them to the Fort to show them things and to help explain the details. Hopefully Pete will take the history of it in school in the next few years because there is a lot of history there and it is a major part of Canadian history.

On other notes. The BBQ went well and I found out yet again that this is a small world. Dad had me pick up some buffalo burgers for supper and there is a couple from here that have awesome buffalo burgers and I had brought them for a family supper and dad really liked them. So anyways, I picked up 2 boxes and took them to my parents. At the BBQ dad and I were talking about where I had gotten them and it turns out that dad has known these people for years through shooting. Tonight when I talked to them they were excited and surprised to know that he was my dad. This keeps happening to me a lot. This world is getting smaller and smaller.

Anxiety

And He took them in His arms and blessed them, laying His hands on them. Mark 10:16

One of the people that did not make the house showing monday came yesterday. We also got a call for another viewing after supper yesterday as well. We have the other couple coming tomorrow to look at the house.

The first 2 showings they are not interested. This is making me anxious about finding someone soon that will want to buy it. I know that I whould not worry because this is what needs to be done to do God's work but it is hard not to worry.

It doesn't help when Pete and Repete seem to be trying to deliberately make a constant mess of the house. Pete also told me (after I got mad at him for making a mess as we were trying to clean the house) that he does not want us to sell the house and move. GRRR!!! I don't want to either but this is God's will for us and it has to be done.

Pete asked me how we knew that this is what God wants for us. So I told him that God told us. And his reply was "God talked to dad?!" "No! He showed us in many different ways." "But you said God talked to you guys." "He doesn't just come out and say 'Do this!' He shows you and you need to listen." "But you said..." Just hit me over the head with a bat or something this conversation is going nowhere.

The mosquitos are out in full force and have been for awhile. I have 5 bites on the side of my right knee. I received them all while I was sleeping and they are annoying. All I can say is that I am glad that they are not on my face that is for sure.

I have needed a destressing so even though I had packed up all of my scrapbooking supplies and put them downstairs I have gone and retrieved them to do some pages. It feels so good to work on some of the pages. It is relaxing and I am getting pages finished. I am so far behind and this is making me feel good that I am able to get these pages done. I still have a ways to go to be caught up that is for sure. I am 2.5 years behind on Pete's and 2.2 years behind on Repete's. I plan on taking my stuff with me when we go to the city to do my practicum this summer. A girlfriend of mine that I scapbook with lives there so we can get together and bounce ideas off of each other and it will keep me occupied in the evenings since it is not my house and I can't just do what I want to do.

Christ Jesus [is]...our rightousness. 1 Corinthians 1:30

We went to the Relay for Life and had a good time. It is an all night (12 hour) relay walk for cancer. It is started off with a survivor lap around the track and then the teams. After that the teams all have to have at least one person on the track at all time. At 10 pm the luminary bags (in honour or memory of loved ones that have had cancer) are lit to light the track for the night.

We were able to walk with my Gramps who is a cancer survivor and we walked with a friend who is also a survivor (his wife was Pete's bus driver until she passed from cancer and then he was Pete's bus driver until he retired a couple of years ago).

Pete was happy to play and walk with his friend. The two of them are quite the pair. They had made some type of concoction to drink out of water and candies. They set up their chairs beside the track to try and give their drink to people passing by. Some people actually stopped and tried it and one person came back for more. They are brave souls.

Repte fell asleep by about midnight and after thinking about it I decided to pack it in at 3:30 am. My plans were to stay until the end but I had an essay to write so I decided to drive home. Pete was not a big fan of that but I'm the mom so what I say goes.

We are almost finished the renos we would be doing some now but the grass needs to be mowed. What else is new, eh?!

We had gotten a call on sunday to show the house yesterday morning. So we busted our hynnies to get the wall paper off the walls down stairs and get a coat of paint on them (Truckerman did that) and get the house cleaned up and more junk tossed out (while I finished my essay and cleaned). 15 minutes before the house was to be shown we got a call that the couples car had some problems (their tire fell off the car and wrecked the car) so they will have to come back a different day. OY!! Then we got a call to show the house at 5 pm (the call came at 4:10) and Truckerman was out of town so I ran around to open blinds, turn on lights, sweep, tidy a few things up and at 4:35 pm the phone rang, the person wanting to look at our house got called away to work and will have to reschedual. UGH!! Not again! I hope that this is not a trend. At least we know that there is at least 2 viewing going to happen in the next little bit. The houses in town are flying off the market, I hope this will happen in this case. So far I am nervous. Too many "What ifs?"
