Overwhelmed

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. Proverbs 12:1

Repete and Pete had their last day of bowling today and they received their badges and trophies

I went to put their badges and certificates into their scrap books and Pete's average at the end of last year and his average at the end of this year were the same. Means he is staying consistant.

It is nice to have it finished for the year but we will miss seeing everyone every week. Some of those people we will probably only see if we bump into them downtown and then when we leave we may never see them again. That is a sad thought.

The house is starting to overwhelm me. All the work that needs to be done and all my studying that I have to do, it seems that I am going in circles right now and nothing is getting accomplished.

I know that by the end of the next few days this should start to look up because Truckerman is home and two people can get more done than one. Plus Repete has school tomorrow so there will not be any distractions from the boys so we should get quite a bit done.

A friend also called me today and offered to take Repete on Friday morning to play with her son and to let us have so time to work on the house without his demands. Plus her son and Repete love to play together so it works all around.

Not Enough Time in the Day

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8

I made out a list of all the things that I need to get done in the next 7 days, and well, there is not enough time in the day to finish it all.

I started to pull up the old floor tiles and they are not coming up as easily as we had hoped. I have now resorted to using the propane torch to help loosen the glue to help ease them up. This is not going to go as well as I had originally hoped. But it will get done if it kills me but it will be worth it.

Truckerman had made a list of things that needed to be done when he gets home from work and since he left for work he has come up with some more and I have found more for him to do. We are going to be tired when this is all over.

Now to try and find time for school work. ~:-S OY!!

Well back to the grindstone sounds like the drier just finished time to switch things over and fold whatever is in there.

Stange but true

The the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you." Exodus 16:4

I put a new ringtone on our cell phone. It is a song and the other night I was playing on the computer and was listening to some music and the song that I have as a ringtone was playing and the cell rang. Really messes you up for a couple seconds.

Well today I went to the Border City to get some flooring and a few other needed things and I have that song programed to tell me if it is playing on the radio. Well the receiver beeped to let me know that the song was coming on so I hit the button to change the channel and I could hear talking and the song playing. Then I heard the song playing different words at the same time and it dawned on me that the cell was ringing. very weird since the cell very rarely rings.

Anyhow, Repete ended up with the flu last night. So he spent half the night in the bathroom and I had bedding to wash today. He spent all day on the couch and most of that time sleeping. So needless to say, Truckerman did not come with me to get the flooring. So it was all up to me to pick it out, purchase it, get it in the car and bring it home. He liked the pattern so it is all good.

I'll post pictures of it when we get it laid. According to my FIL there is purple in it. I think he is color blind, or just crazy. I think crazy!! LOL

I am very excited to get it laid. It is going to look really nice and will go well with all the colors that I have picked out for paint. But I can't think to much about some of the paint at the moment because I should really get the painting I have started finished first. And I also have a tone of wall paper to strip as well before the paint would even get up on the walls.

Truckerman was certainly busy while I was on my shopping trip. He cleaned up his dresser, his side of the bed, some of the basement, part of the storeroom, part of the one bookshelf, all of his laundry, some of the laundry room, some of the livingroom, and some more of the porch.

Like I said before, the house looked like a bomb went off. Now it looks like a small bomb went off not like an atomic bomb went off. I'm liking all this cleaning because my house is starting to look like a house again. :-)

Tired

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. Proverbs 31:10

According to Repete this is the worst day of his entire life. Why is it the worst day you may ask yourself? It is because mom and dad have made him help clean up the porch. And anyone who has seen our porch knows that it is quite messy room. It is almost finished and will be tomorrow once I take the recycling to the recycling center and the bottles to the bottle depot. Then Truckerman and I can finish cleaning up the room. Dad is coming to get Cookies furniture out of the porch so between now and sunday I have to clean it out. It will be nice to have another room cleaned up.

Truckerman found the leak that has been haunting us for the last year. This is his dad came over to help and only made the crack in the pipe bigger so now I am unable to do my dishes tonight until Cranky Momma's husband comes over to help fix the pipe. Maybe it would have been a good idea not to make the coffee cake (more dishes that are sitting in the sink). But it is oh so yummy (Pastor M. I will bring some to you on Wednesday) it even has coffee flavored icing. MMMMM gooood! :-) The problem that I had tonight with it was the recipe called for a 9x9 pan, toooooo small!!! It overflowed into my oven so now I have to clean it. Don't you just love that wonderful smell of burnt on food?! Ya right!

We have a couple coming to look at our place next weekend. Man do we have alot to do before now and then. Yikes!! Truckerman did alot today considering the problems he had trying to get to the pipes. He even had the boys doing lots. He's such a sweetie. He even let me lay down this afternoon when I had a head ache.

Next week we are buying a new carpet shampooer. I'm so excited. We used to have one but it died. We won't go there as to why it died, all I can say is that I will never lend out the new one to people that is for sure!!! We are also going to look at flooring either this week or next week. We haven't really had a chance to talk about it. I think Thursday so then we can order it and it will be here by next week and we can start to put it down.

I'm also looking at buying some paint this week to start on the dining room. I'll have to look at how much other things we get done first.

I really should get focused on my school work and get it going. I do have a week to finish up this next assignment but then I have only a couple days to finish up 2 after that and it stays like that until finals. Plus with Easter coming up quickly I really need to get my butt in gear.

Speaking of butts. I have officially lost 6.5 pounds in the last few weeks!!! I'm so happy. I'm getting into some pants that I haven't been able to wear for quite some time. Now I just need to keep it up and lose some more. I guess that the coffee cake isn't going to help the weight loss but hey, I made it with whole wheat floor so it is a little better than with white flour. :-)

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." Isaiah 30:15

Last week we were all so sick. I am still suffering with a stuffy nose but it is just the tail end of it so it is not that bad.

The boys have friends over this afternoon and they are spending the night here and all day tomorrow. The boys were pretty excited about it. I think we will have a movie night for them and I will study while they watch the movie. Then they will all ge to bed and I will watch some tv and make some cards or scrapbook. Should be a nice evening.

It has been really nice here and the snow has been slowly melting here. I was so excited to see a Canada goose fly over a few days ago that I blerted out "A goose!" Then when I was coming back from the city I saw a Bald Eagle. I wish I had my camera when I saw it. It is not that common to see them around here. Pretty exciting stuff.

Gack!!!

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. Romans 6:22

Since my last post we have all become very ill. I'm the worst of all of us. I had been calling my parents to see how they were getting along, now it is them who are calling me to see how we are getting along.

Last night I broke down and took some Buckley's. It had been a long time since I had taken it and trust me I am never taking ever again. I thought I was going to get sick just from it. :-P There is not much that I can take because Pseudoephedrine makes me high, literally. I am awake for days and I get really jittery. Not a good site. So needless to say I usually just let the cold just run it's course. I will resort to nasal spray if I have any around (this was the case tonight and I am a much happier camper because of it) and Dristan tablets without the Pheudoephedrine.

Truckerman has found a website for a church in the States called the Epic Church http://www.epicwired.com that is supposedly affiliated with the LCMS. I am appalled to see something like that is called a church. A coffee shop style to the santuary?! Give me a break! How is having donuts and drinking coffee have to do with worship? And then to top it off, they are doing a six week study on "Great Sex"! Pardon me?! God instituted sex for a marriage, there is no mention of "great sex" and really does it need to be put into a church service? I say not.

Then Truckerman was telling me this story that he had heard the other day. Two grade six students decided to have sex in the computer lab during class time while other stood on watching and keeping an eye out for the teacher. Excuse me?! Did I hear that correctly?! And the worst of it all is the Attorney General for that State said that nothing should be done because it was not harmful to anyone. Pardon?!! Did I hear that one correctly?! It was not harmful to anyone?! These are 2 children having sex in school in front of other children, I certainly would not want me 11-12 year old exposed to that. They are acting like sex is no big deal. It is a very big deal, and not meant for 2 children to be participating in. My question is, where are the parents, and what the heck are they teaching their children anyways?

Germs, Germs, and More Germs

The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you...and you will be changed into a different person. 1 Samuel 10:6

Truckerman, Pete, my brother, and my dad are all sick. Yuck! I'm hoping that Repete and I do not get sick.

I talked to my SIL today and she is still not very good. She is still having migranes, dizzy spells, and numbness in her arm. She was sent to a nerve specialist and he thinks that it is her nerves but is not exactly sure of what it really is. She is unable to go out by herself and is unable to drive right now.

She did tell me that her MIL is coming at the end of the month and wants to look at the house. This means that Truckerman and I have alot to do in the next 3 weeks. I am going to have to sit down and make a cleaning, fixing, studying schedual for myself. I think that I am going to have to put my stamping/scrapbooking away until we move. NAH!! Can't do that! It just means that I will have to schedual that into my time as well.

Truckerman finally received his mark for his second year English final. He received a 75% so that puts his final mark at about 74%. Not bad for a class that he didn't like. No more poetry for him! He is happy about that.

Now that he has time on his hands he will busy with the house. First thing to be done? Try and find the leak in the basement ceiling and to clean the porch. It will be nice to be able to walk through there without stepping over kids boots, coats, and bookbags among other things. It will be a wonderful thing. :-)

Busy Weekend

And David said, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of the Philistine." 1 Samuel 17:37

We went away this weekend to do some things. Thursday we left because Truckerman had received 2 free tickets to a hockey game. His cousin was supposed to go but got sent up north to work so Pete went with him instead.

Here he is standing behind the players bench.

Friday night Truckerman took both boys to a Lacrosse game courtesy of mom.
Here is the game.

Here is the mascot dancing at half time. They all said that it was a really neat half time.

This is one of the mascots with the boys.

Saturday the boys stayed with Candi for the day while Truckerman and I toured Concordia University College (he was accepted for the fall) and Concordia Lutheran Seminary. She and Truckerman's cousin Susie took Susie's son and the boys to the West Edmonton Mall to Gallaxyland. Repete is seen here playing. And then they went to Kidtropolis. I had never heard of anything like it until last week while reading Homestead Lutheran Academy where her children went to Wannado City. It is the same concept. The boys all had a blast.

Truckerman and I had attended another open house at the seminary and each time it has really helped calm my fears about us leaving here and having to go to the city. God is really working in our lives and making things work according to His plan.
Neat thing to add, Truckerman's cousin and her son and boyfriend attended church with us this morning and they plan on going again. The Holy Spirit has been working in her to start attending church and to have her son learn who God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are. Place pray for her that she listens to the Holy Spirit.
